What is An Abolitionist?

We are a group of believers seeking to Abolish Human Abortion, bringing it into conflict with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We believe that Abortion is murder. Murder is sin. The remedy for sin is Christ. And so we seek to proclaim Christ to the lost, the hurting, the weary, and the wretched, communicating to them the beauty of redemption, and the freedom that we can find in Christ.

We believe that Christ’s summary of the law is a mandate for our action as believers, that we must “Love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind and soul, and our neighbor as ourselves.”

This includes all human beings, created in the image of God, including the unborn. We seek to promote redemption, not destruction, and to point to Christ constantly, as we love our neighbor during each divine appointment.

We do this knowing that Christ came to save sinners, of whom we are foremost.

We cannot put it any better than scripture:

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”                           1 Corinthians 6:9-11

And such we were, but we know firsthand the power of God’s grace and his mercy in the lives of wretched sinners.
Because of his grace in our lives, we seek to reach out to our neighbor with a compassion that mirrors Christ’s perfect example of love, in the hope that they too will find freedom in him.

Abolitionists are Christians, calling our nation, our cities,  to repent of their bloodguilt, and establish justice for their unborn neighbor.

Like Abolitionists of old, we call for the abolition of our current evil: Abortion.

We stand on the truth that every human being is created in God’s image, and as such, has value. We maintain that God has given us the inalienable right to life, and the abortion is indeed, legalized murder.
We call our nation to repent, reminding her that just as the Supreme Court was wrong when the Dred Scott decision determined as those with darker skin were not “persons” but instead, “property”, so it was wrong when it declared humans in the womb were not “persons”.

We call for an end to this evil, and bring the gospel of Jesus Christ into conflict with it, calling all men everywhere to repent.

We call for the civil magistrates to establish justice as per God’s holy law which says: “You shall not murder” and that the laws for murder apply to ALL persons.

We remind Allentown that one day every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ IS Lord.

We say to the church: Jesus said “Love the Lord your God… and your neighbor as yourself.”
Do not be like the Levite and the Priest, hurrying to your “calling” while your neighbor lies bloodied on the road.
LOVE your neighbor. Do more than *think* abortion is wrong. OPPOSE it.

Consider the commands in scripture to “stop those stumbling to the slaughter” (Prov. 24:11) and to “speak for those who have no voice.” (Prov. 3:8)
We urge you to consider the question “Does God hate our worship?”
Do not be like the “church” in Jeremiah 7, walking past the crumbling culture to the tabernacle, ignoring your neighbor’s need for the gospel.
Rather, consider God’s commands in Amos 5 to “establish Justice in the gate.”

We remind you to rely on God’s providence, not on man’s wisdom. Stop seeking the easy paths of sending change to a Crisis Pregnancy Center, occasionally expressing an opinion, and voting for incremental measures designed to regulate murder.

Duty is ours, to obey God, and proclaim his truth.

But truthfully, results are HIS.

And like Gideon, Moses, Isaiah, Christ, Peter, Paul, we do “our father’s will” trusting him to do things in his own timing, and rejecting pragmatic means that rely solely on how many votes we seem to have.

BE the church.
LOVE your God.
LOVE your neighbor.
