Why do we go to high schools?

 

We know, statistically that high school students, and even some middle school students are sexually active.
We know, statistically that high school students, and even some middle school students seek abortions, if not now, later.
1 in 4 women will have an abortion.

So Why do we go to schools?

We go where the Front Lines are. We go to inform students, before they are pregnant or seeking an abortion , that abortion is the evil of our age.
We go to inform them that each pregnancy, from the moment of conception, is a human being in their Mother’s womb.
We stand on the gospel of Jesus Christ, who came to the womb to redeem the world. In the very place he became like us in all things, we are all guilty of allowing the legal murder our own sons and daughters.

And so we seek to tell students that they will not find freedom in sex. They will not find liberty in murder. We urge them NOT to be enslaved by sin, but to find freedom in Christ.
We also seek to tell them that rather than prop up this injustice, we ought to oppose and expose the evil of our day.

Why do we use Graphic images?

Our Society often engages in collective moralism, using history to illustrate injustice, and praise those who opposed it. Abolitionists of old, Soldiers in WWII who helped end the Holocaust, and Civil Rights giants like Martin Luther King Jr. who said: “Injustice must be exposed.” 10649686_10205088513744787_144460698949168521_n

As a culture we value past movements that despite great sacrifice of self, and risk of danger, sought to end injustice and expose it. We do the same, and agree with the imperative “Never Again.”
We use graphic pictures of abortion to illustrate and educate on the injustice perpetuated in our nation on image bearers, human beings murdered legally in our nation.  We use them as a “Schoolteacher” teaching the law that God has written on our hearts, our conscience, that tells us what is right and wrong. (Romans 1)

In a study from the University of Nebraska Press, published in 1992, it was estimated children viewed an average of 200,000 acts of violence on Television before they reached the age of 18.

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum reports that “Students in grades six and above demonstrate the ability to empathize with individual eyewitness accounts and to attempt to understand the complexities of Holocaust history, including the scope and scale of the events. ”

It is established that young students are capable not only of viewing violent imagery, but of processing it, and determining a need to oppose injustice.
What is more disturbing than the pictures themselves, are the parents who seek to cover them up, and hide the truth, while hypocritically touting brave men and women of the past who used such images to say: “Never Again.”
Students see this response and follow their parents in dehumanizing the human beings in the womb for the purpose of their destruction. Or, they are disturbed by their parents lack of compassion for their peers who are being murdered daily in our nation.
What will you model for your student? A courageous desire to oppose injustice, whatever the cost? Or a cowardly response that perpetuates evil, because you desire it to be so, or it is too difficult to oppose?

What is our message?
Our message is one of pleading with you to love God, and love your neighbor.

“At this very moment you are either living to serve Christ, love others, and walking a path which leads to life, or you are living to serve yourself, a slave to your sin, and walking a path which leads to Death. ” (excerpt from Booklet, which can be read here: You’ve Been Lied To)

See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them,  I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.

 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live  and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.” (Duet. 30:15-20)

Abortion Exceptions: Stop Muddying The Waters

God has said: “Do not murder.”

He allows no exceptions, no caveats, no special circumstances. His command is crystal clear. So why do we, as his people, allow for muddy waters when it comes to abortion? Let us think clearly, and let us apply his Word especially to this!
The common exceptions are generally listed as: “Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother.”
Not listed generally, but often discussed is the case of a genetically unique or terminally ill human being in the womb.
We will look at these one by one.

561772_10151058437485678_483352590_nRape and Incest: “Cursed is the one who perverts the justice due to the stranger, the fatherless, and widow.” (Duet. 27:19)

A child who is conceived in rape is a victim along with their Mother. Should they be given the death penalty for the crime of their Father?
No! Rather, as a victim, they ought to be given care.
We should not pervert justice for a fatherless child conceived in rape. They are no monster, or devil, or any other word used to dehumanize them. Rather the human being conceived in rape is an image bearer of God, and as such, we should be loving them, not advocating for their Mother to murder them.
Rape and Abortion are both wrong for the same reasons, both are a violent crime against another person’s body. It does not erase the rape to “empower” a woman to become a perpetrator in a violent crime against her own son or daughter. It piles guilt on top of pain.

In the case of incest, the circumstances are also similar. A child who is the victim of their parent’s desires and sin, whether it was one parent or two, should not be given the death penalty for their parent’s crime. Ezekiel 18 says: “The one who sins shall die”
The parents are responsible for their sin, and their sins should not rain down on their child, culminating in her murder.

WHATEVER you did for the least of these AHALife of the Mother: Children whose Mothers are sick, should not be murdered either.

This is in opposition to Christ’s own words when he said:
“There is no love greater than this, than that a man lay down his life for his friend.” (John 15:13)
How much greater still, when a Mother risks her life in asking a Doctor to care equally for both patients, rather than abandoning her own child to the abuse of the abortionist?
It is no virtue to sacrifice a child who is also created in God’s image,  to save her own life.
No one would praise or excuse a Mother who pushes her child in front of an oncoming train to ensure her own escape, and to save her own life. Why do we then excuse it when the child is in her womb?

Children who themselves are gravely sick, or who are genetically unique should not be put to death by their own parents, and frankly, it is sad it even has to be argued!
The term “Incompatible with life” is itself a slap in the face, considering it is God, not us, who determines who lives and who dies. (Deuteronomy 32:29)

As image bearers of God, human beings who are sick, or have specific health needs should be cared for with compassion and hope, trusting in God to number their days, and resting in his grace to love them every moment he has given them.
We would recoil in horror if the parents of a born terminally ill child shot her in the head, justifying it with “But if we didn’t do it, She might die!”

Likewise, it is wrong to say that murdering a child so they don’t die, will somehow relieve or help the parents grief and pain.
It won’t.
Is it really preferable a mother pay to have her baby murdered before giving birth to a dead baby? The world is upside down when women contend for the “right” to murder their baby, to prevent their son or daughter’s natural death, because they think it will make them feel better.
It will only pile guilt on top of pain, compounding what is a sad situation, to a situation where the parents bear bloodguilt for their own child, twisting and distorting their grief by sin against God and their own son or daughter.

Conclusion:
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices- mint, dill, and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law- justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.” (Matt. 23:23)

Are you a Pharisee? Do you observe the niceties of Christian life while neglecting justice and mercy for “the least of these?”

Do you abandon the weak to death, are you neglecting to be a “voice for the voiceless?” (Proverbs 31:8)

Who are you in the parable of the good Samaritan? When you see your preborn neighbor being beaten and bloodied in the womb, do you help? Or do you walk on by to do “better things?”

Do you say: “This is not my calling?”

What is it you are commanded to do?
If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?” (Prov 24:10-12)

Do not continue to ignore what you know. Truthfully, you can never again say that you did not know.
Rather, obey God. Love God, and love your neighbor.
“He has told you, Oh man, what is good. To do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)

 

What the Supreme Court Decision in Texas Means for the Pro Life Movement

Given the recent Supreme Court ruling regarding “TRAP” laws in Texas, this illustrates the need for a call for abolition.

The laws in question, required wider hallways, admitting privileges in hospitals, and overall “safer” abortions. They were designed to hold abortion “clinics” to the same standard as other outpatient clinics.

But this approach only seeks to regulate murder, and make it safer for the perpetrators, while ignoring the victim.

In the aftermath of the ruling, many Pro Life celebrities, such as Troy Newman, and Abby Johnson (of Planned Parenthood defecting fame) bemoaned the lack of safety mindedness on behalf of pro choicers.

They stated how they simply wanted to make things safer for women, because women matter.

Women, who are murdering their children, deserve safety while they commit that act?

Is it not against God’s law to murder? Why should we protect the perpetrator in the commission of that act? Why should we seek to make murder safer for the Mother?

“Is it not for you to know justice?— you who hate the good and love the evil, who tear the skin from off my people and their flesh from off their bones, who eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them, and break their bones in pieces and chop them up like meat in a pot, like flesh in a cauldron.

Then they will cry to the Lord, but he will not answer them;
he will hide his face from them at that time, because they have made their deeds evil.”
(Micah 3:2-4 ESV)

This concern for safety during the act of murder, for the perpetrators, has translated into a “Not Over” campaign where Abby Johnson seeks to ensure abortion is regulated, safer, and cleaner.

Sounds like the Pro Choice goal for “safe, legal, and rare” aligns with the Pro Life Movement’s actions.

But this is an approach that has shown to fail, as the Supreme Court has struck it down! Why are we spending time, money, and resources, regulating murder?

Even more important than the success of this pragmatic tactic, is the truth! Murder is sin. It is against God’s law. Our Creator who has decreed: “Do Not Murder”

So let us treat abortion as what it is, breaking the law of God , and let us call for its abolition!

Here we are, on the cusp of a day when we celebrate Liberty.  When we speak in fond terms of our founding fathers who believed in risking their lives to protect the rights of “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Men who believed “all men are created equal” (not BORN equal.)

If we truly purport to hold these things dear, and to celebrate them, then let us not hold empty sentiment for a flag, a bell, or a piece of paper.

Let us put these principles into action, and honor God, who created us in his image, by calling for no less than abolition.

Join us, as we seek to abolish abortion in our state of Pennsylvania, and do not settle for the failed and doubleminded strategies of the Pro Life movement, which only serve to entrench this evil.


Let us no longer pay professionals to do the work for us, to tell us that God is with us as we compromise with evil, and regulate murder! This is what God despises, and tells us most of all NOT to do!

“Hear this, you heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who detest justice and make crooked all that is straight, who build Zion with blood and Jerusalem with iniquity. Its heads give judgment for a bribe; its priests teach for a price; its prophets practice divination for money; yet they lean on the LORD and say, “Is not the LORD in the midst of us? No disaster shall come upon us.” (Micah 3:9-11 ESV)

But let us rather, hear his voice, and repent of our doublemindedness! Let us turn away from compromising with evil, and making a pact with death! Let us no longer seek to comfort the wicked in their sin!

Let us “Do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with (our) God.” (Micah 6:8)

Which Son Are You?

“Put your money where your mouth is!”

This is a challenge often leveled to inspire action. But in our case, we’ve kept our mouths silent, and put our money where our heart is – in the comfortable, obvious outlet of pro-life schemes.

And so we cry in outrage at the injustice of David Daleiden’s indictment today, only to forget the 3,000+ babies murdered to12417851_1016897168376297_1540778208721041603_nday, tomorrow, and every day.

We’re so invested in the political game, the one-upmanship of bills and petitions, and the easy gratification of sending a check to those who are “called” to fight this fight. We are drawn to the theatre and the drama of the high stakes game drawn out by Daleiden and Planned Parenthood.

But Daleiden can’t fight this alone, and he is not even fighting wisely.

Rather than using his coup to illustrate the depths of depravity, to highlight and drive home what we already know in our hearts, that abortion is murder, he’s missed the mark by swinging away at a branch of the tree, trying to treat a symptom of the disease.

Instead, we must lay the axe to the root! Why would we think that our government, which has made it legal to murder human beings so long as they are under x age, and in x location (their mother’s womb) would be just?11193280_10202901389694318_8480590132706653371_n

We have called evil good and good evil.
Why should we be outraged at the sales of baby body parts, when we yawn in the face of their murder, and declare: “Well, it IS legal”?

Christian, this is NOT righteous.

We must love what God loves, and hate what God hates.

Repent with us.
Consider our response to abortion, as a nation.

Many abolitionists have found over and over and over again that as we approach our pastors, our churches, and our sisters and brothers in Christ, we are given the same answer each time: “I’m not called to that.”
But we realize we ARE commanded to oppose it; our actions declare this loud and clear! Consider the way we use our wallets. We know abortion ought to be opposed, and so we pour money into our local Crisis Pregnancy Centers, sign petitions, respond to donation pleas from pro-lifers, we share photos, articles, and videos from professionals like David Daleiden, and we cry out together when he is indicted.
If we think we should do this much, why are we using the “not my calling” excuse?
Why are we pouring all our effort into theatrics, shows, and pro-life careerism?

So many have quoted Paul in exasperation when abolitionists have approached them about opposing child sacrifice themselves. They bolster their plea of “I’m not called to that” with an appeal to I Corinthians 12.
Yet this text is not in any way saying we can make a menu of God’s commandments, picking and choosing which ones suit our desires, and applying only those.
We even acknowledge this in other areas of church life.
When scripture commands us to “Praise the Lord, all you nations!” (Psalm 117), none of us think that because Bob is “called” to play the guitar means that everyone else is now exempt from praising God.
No one says:
Let’s all give Bob money so he can praise God! That isn’t MY calling!

No, we all praise God as our talents, abilities, and place within the body and bride of Christ allows.
Some write, sing, speak, play, pray, etc.

We know that praising God is not limited to the pew, or the stage, but rather something we are to do with our whole lives.
Although we may have different means with which to praise God, but we praise God, and we do it daily.

Now, consider God’s commands in scripture, ones that have a far more difficult and self-sacrificial applications, in many ways…

“STOP those who are stumbling to the slaughter” (Proverbs 24:11)

“Establish justice in the gate” (Amos 5)

“GO ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15)

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

When faced with these commands, applied to the injustice of our day, HOW is it that suddenly, we have come to think of God’s commands as a buffet of what pleases and suits us?


Are they not commands to be obeyed joyfully, with the means that he has provided us?
This is all that we, as abolitionists, are saying!

Stop being sucked into the fundraising schemes of the professionals, stop handing your money over to fund the secular or pluralistic tactics of the Pro-Life Movement, and obey God!
This isn’t about theatrics, this isn’t about a national conversation, and it isn’t just about thinking rightly.
Love your neighbor! There is no middle ground with that 11058742_391313637742581_5668774708781081642_ncommandment.
There is no professional to turn it over to. It is given to each and every one of us who follows Christ!

Consider Christ’s words in Matthew 21:

“What do you think? A man had two sons. And he went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’ And he answered, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind and went. And he went to the other son and said the same. And he answered, ‘I go, sir,’ but did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. And even when you saw it, you did not afterward change your minds and believe him.”

So which son are you?
Do you disobey, but realize your sin and repent? Or do you think rightly, speak rightly, but abandon God’s commands in deed?

Remember, that Christ also said:
“What you do for the least of these, you do for me.”

And he did not speak of a flourish with the checkbook, but rather right action in the face of urgent need for the weakest among us.

Navel Gazing and Christ’s Kingdom

As we’ve approached local churches about loving their unborn neighbor, we’ve often been told: “Oh, it’s so nice you’re called to this. We’re sending money to a CPC that is solid, so we’re good, thanks!”
Meanwhile these churches spend their time encouraging their congregants to personal holiness of the brand their Pastor ascribes to.
We were once like this:
We spent our time policing one another’s apparel, obsessing over what we wore, if we appeared holy.
We spent our time studying scripture on HOW to be more holy,
engaging in pietistic navel gazing, determining how Christ would change OUR life, OUR behavior, OUR feelings, OUR actions. We tacked on pharisaical laws intent on displaying the FORM of Godliness.
 
But justice and mercy? That can be farmed out with bottles full of change. We’re busy learning to be holy over here!
 
We know it sounds harsh, but we SHOULD be harsh with this kind of nonsense. Christ did not redeem us so we can put scripture verses up in our bathrooms, and speak extra nicely, and wear nice clothing.
He redeemed us for HIS purposes! And he commands us to more than just reform our own little selves!
 
He tells us to DO justly, LOVE mercy, and walk humbly with our God.
 
That pure and undefiled religion is this: “To help widows and orphans and keep oneself unstained from the world.”
 
Jesus never said: “Hide away somewhere where you can learn to be as holy as possible til I come back!”

No. He said: “GO ye into ALL the world, and preach the gospel!”
and
“Make disciples, teaching them whatsoever I command you.”
 
And what did he command us? “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and your neighbor as yourself.”
 
The Church today, even the most fundamental, are obsessed with seeking personal piety and individual holiness, but they forget the other commands: Loving our neighbor, caring for those in need, teaching and making disciples.
 
We instead focus on the half of the gospel that affects ME and MINE, forgetting we’ve been told “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.”We forget that our salvation is a gift. Not a result of our works. That we cannot PURSUE holiness, but that it is given to us by God’s grace.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
(Ephesians 2:8-10 ESV)

God has prepared us to walk in good works. Not the kind that make my bathroom cleaner, my children happier, and my life more attractive.

But the kind that align with Christ’s words:
“For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Whoever wants to save their life will lose it. But whoever loses their life for me will find it.”

We’ve rejected Joel Osteen’s prosperity gospel, called the Word of Faith movement silly, and yet we ascribe to a more culturally acceptable version. A holier, more spiritual kind of prosperity gospel. And if not in word, in deed.

Our deeds showing this: We think Christ only reigns in the 4 walls of our church buildings on Sunday morning, and in our hearts the rest of the week, as if his word has no effectual power in the world we live in.

Our neighbor is being murdered at 2 abortion clinics in Allentown, several days a week.

 

We abandon our lost neighbors, shrug our shoulders at the most grievous of sins, watching them be destroyed day in, and day out, and our response?

To HIDE. To hide in our own homeschool circles. In our church buildings, in our “wholesome” family nights, in our football games at the church, in our potluck dinners.

We don’t oppose the evil in our world, we blithely invite it to join us on Sunday morning in the pews, and are shocked when it doesn’t come, or shocked when it DOES.

But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus “And who IS my neighbor?”

 

This is not the command Christ gives. This is not the example he set, or his disciples set.

“GO into ALL THE WORLD.”

Like Paul went to Mars Hill. Like Peter went to the synagogues, like Jesus preached open air to the crowds, like Jeremiah cried out in the marketplaces.

Stop hiding, church. Repent with us. Join us.

What is Abolitionism? The Two Modes

Every age has its evils.
Every age has its abolitionists.

As we seek the Abolition of Abortion, we also seek to honor Christ in this culture of death, and we have 2 modes by which we oppose this evil.

Agitation
Agitation is one way to oppose the culture of death, and it is exactly what it sounds like: Shaking things up.

We seek to educate and inform, to expose this evil.
We do this in a variety of ways:

one on one conversations
social media
correspondence
public declaration
holding signs
dropping cards
handing out literature

Our goal is to expose the truth where ever we go, whatever we do, as commanded in Ephesians 5:11
“Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, instead, expose them.”

To proclaim Christ to the culture at large, using the law as a schoolmaster, and exposing our national sin.
To call all men everywhere to repent, and turn to Christ.
To tell them that we need no longer be a slave to sin, but slaves to righteousness.


Assistance
To help “the widows and orphans” in their time of need.
To care for “the least of these.”

This can be as simple as giving water to a thirsty neighbor, or as complex as coming alongside a woman who is in need, discipling her, helping to see that her needs are met, and loving her and her baby.

This can happen in a variety of ways, depending on the needs that we come into contact with, or are aware of.

Starting now, we will begin a series  on what modern abolitionism is.

We will begin with the 2 modes, and the 5 tenets, expanding on each one.
